The District Attorney’s office and Health Commissioner John L. Rice yesterday were investigating a dispute between Arthur Simon, investigator for the Commissioner, and an official of Isaac Gellis, Inc., food provisions concern.
According to Simon’s own account, he was forced to submit to a search at the hands of detectives from the District Attorney’s office.
On his person, he admits, was found a summons which had been served on Gellis executives some time ago, charging the firm with violation of the kosher food laws.
