A campaign for funds and members throughout the state for the Portland Home for the Hebrew Aged, which is expected to cost about $75,000, will be launched after the holidays. The site was selected and land purchased in June 1927. As a result of the campaign, construction of the building is expected to begin shortly.
With the Jewry of Maine in urgent need of such a building, it is expected that the campaign for funds to pay for the building and members to maintain the institution will be successful.

The bulk of the estate, believed to be close to $1,000,000, was left to members of Mr. Kraus’ immediate family, according to the will, just probated in Philadelphia.
