A bronze marker was unveiled in memory of Albert Van Den Berg, a Liege attorney, a hero of the anti-Nazi resistance movement who saved many Jews in the Liege region.
He was deported by the Gestapo to an internment camp in Germany where he died as a result of his mistreatment. The memorial, bearing inscriptions in Hebrew and French, was placed at the entrance to an Infants Home where 54 Jewish children found refuge through the attorney’s efforts.
