The formation of a committee in Britain to exercise control over appeals in behalf of Israel conducted in Britain was disclosed here today by S. Levenberg, Jewish Agency representative here.

He revealed that there are some 25 fund-raising missions for Israel operating in this country, to the detriment of the Joint Palestine Appeal and the Jewish National Fund. He said that he has urged stricter control of fund-raising missions in Israel, adding that he recently received word from Jewish Agency headquarters in Jerusalem that a Poale Agudas Israel campaign in Britain was “unjustified” because the organization receives large sums from the Agency.
