Admiration for the services the Jewish women of Palestine are contributing to the British war effort in the Middle East was voiced here today by Mrs. M. Chitty, commander-in-chief of the Palestine Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service, at a rally of the Council of Jewish women’s organizations to enroll ATS recruits.
At the rally which was the opening gun in the drive to enlist thousands of Jewish women in the Palestine W.A.T.S., whose formation was announced this week, Mrs. Chitty stated that the “biggest and nicest” ATS camp in the Near East would be established in Palestine. Training of a military character will be given at the camp, the ATS leader reported.
