It was reported here today that Brazil will put before the Eighth Pan-American Conference, which opens tomorrow, a demand that the conference go on record in condemnation of Nazi Germany’s anti-Semitic persecutions. The question, it was said, might be broached during study of economic problems, which involve the issue of emigration and refuge for victims of Nazi terrorism.

It was reliably learned, at the same time, that Argentina was furthering a plan for combatting European propaganda in South America. Argentine sources declared a direct drive would be made to suppress the activities of all groups maintaining connections with foreign powers. A first draft of the anti-propaganda measure written by Delegate Mario Antelo was rejected, and Argentine Foreign Minister Jose Maria Cantilo decided to take over the task himself, in view of its delicate nature and the tremendous interest it is certain to awaken if it reaches the conference floor.
