The body of Leon Schinasi, cigarette manufacturer, president of the Schinasi Commercial Corporation and well known philanthropist whose death was reported last Saturday at Juan Les Pins, France, will arrive here Tuesday on the Majestic, according to information received at his offices here. Mr. Schinasi was traveling in Europe with his wife who is expected to accompany his body back.
The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Schinasi and brother of Morris Schinasi, who died in 1928, all of whom were known for their charitable benefactions, Leon Schinasi made several important philanthropic contributions during his life, including the site of the Sydenham Hospital in Manhattan.
He was forty years of age and is survived by his wife, Mrs. R. Smith Salmon Schinasi, and three children.
