A vigorous protest in the name of British Jewry against the Nazi persecution of Jews in Germany, was today adopted by the Board of Jewish Deputies at a special meeting here.
“It is with the deepest sense of outrage that we have witnessed the latest stage in the deliberate degradation of Jews in Germany by the deliberate act of the German State,” the resolution reads.
Reaffirming its previous stand, the Board of Deputies declared that “No self-respecting Jew will handle German goods or utilize German services as long as this policy endures. We pledge ourselves to pursue by every lawful means, and with inflexible determination, the fight which is not of our seeking, against this systematic, barbarous denial of those principles of liberty and equality to which all are entitled irrespective of race or creed.”
Neville Laski, president of the Board of Deputies, in a speech assailed the Nazi regime and its racial theory, and denounced the new “ghetto laws” adopted by the Reichstag at Nuremberg.
“These new laws,” he said, “reveal the underlying malevolence which is the mainspring of the Nazi policy against Jews.”
