“Emanuel Neumann is one of the few Hebrews in America and is the closest to my heart among American Zionists,” former Prime Minister David Ben Gurion declared here today in a message to the 70th birthday celebration for Dr. Neumann held at ZOA House. Among those attending the celebration were Moshe Sharett, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive and Dr. Nahurn Goldmann, president of the World Zionist Organization.

In his message to Dr. Neumann, which was read to the gathering by Liberal Knesset Deputy Joseph Serlin, Mr. Ben-Gurion who was unable to attend because of poor health, said: “In my concept of Zionist organizations, I would say that Neumann is the only Zionist in the United States. But I don’t allow myself to argue with others considering themselves Zionists.”
