Word was received here today of the death last week in Tel Aviv of Baruch Ostrovsky, educator, journalist and Mayor of Raanana, Israel. He was 70 years of age. Mr, Ostrovsky was one of the founders of Raanana, a town near the coast northeast of Tel Aviv,
Born in Russia, Mr. Ostrovsky came to the United States when he was 18 years of age and subsequently served here as principal of the Workmen’s Circle High School. He settled in Palestine in 1930 and was named chairman of the Raanana Local Council the following year. He served in this post without remuneration until his death.
