Austria’s largest banking group is close to reaching a settlement of Holocaust- era claims against it, according to the World Jewish Congress. Bank Austria, along with several German banks and industrial firms, is being sued by Holocaust victims who charge that it aided the Nazi war machine and profited when Jewish businesses were forced to sell their assets at rock-bottom prices.
