A covering for the ark of the Shearith Israel Synagogue was presented to the synagogue by Mr. and Mrs. O. Weissman and the Independent Shearith Israel Lodge. The covering was accepted in behalf of the congregation by Rabbi Tobias A. Geffen. Cantor Hirsch Geffen of Savannah, his brother, sang. He also was heard on the Jewish Variety Hour radio broadcast over station WJTL.
