The Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced tonight that the process of “dejudaizing” Jewish retail trades of this city was completed. This is in line with the current German policy of “Aryanizing” Jewish retail stores. Out of some 300 Jewish shops in Hamburg, 100 have been turned over to “Aryans,” the announcement said, and for these there were 1,800 applicants. There were between 200 and 300 establishments of Jewish artisans, one-tenth of which have been “Aryanized” and the rest liquidated. The process of “dejudaizing” the wholesale trade is not yet finished, it was indicated.
