The central Jewish representative organization in Argentina, the DIA, protested today to Dr. Guillermo Borda, the Minister of the Interior, against the desecration of a Jewish cemetery. The DAIA protest, signed by Dr. Isaac Goldenberg, president, and Jose Kestelman, acting secretary, was accompanied by photographs of the vandalized cemetery showing swastikas painted on tombstones and on the cemetery walls.
The letter also drew the minister’s attention to the fact that he had not replied to an earlier communication describing Nazi activities here including distribution of quantities of anti-Jewish hate literature and the painting of anti-Jewish slogans on buildings. The DAIA leaders asked the minister to receive a delegation from its organization to discuss the situation.
