An agreement for a joint fund drive for overseas relief has been reached between the Organization for Assistance, which cooperates with the Joint Distribution Committee, and the United Central Committee, affiliated with the World Jewish Congress. The new agency is named the Central Organization for Assistance.
Under the terms of the agreement shipments of relief supplies will be sent through the W.J.C. and the J.D.C. in proportion with the total sums spent by the two organizations on relief last year. In addition, the World Jewish Congress will receive 25 percent of the first 1,000,000 pesos collected and 15 percent of all other funds for its political activities. The DAIA, central representative body of Argentine Jews, will receive five percent of the first 1,000,000 pesos and three percent of the reminder. In future years, the DAIA share will be reduced.
