A sharp attack on Trygve Lie, former Secretary General of the United Nations, has been made by the Arab League on the eve of Mr. Lie’s presiding over an international labor conference here, which opens July 26.
In a memorandum to governments which will participate, the Arab League Secretariat charged that Mr. Lie “is known for his opposition and open enmity to the Arabs.” The memorandum further stated that Mr. Lie had made himself “a defender of the Jews, and has often criticized the Arabs, in addition to his anti-Arab attitudes at the United Nations.”
