An appeal to ex-Berliners of the Jewish faith to return to Berlin and “give their native city the opportunity to make amends” for the Hitler era and the holocaust, was made here last night by Senator Dietrich Spangenberg, of the Berlin City-State. He spoke at a meeting commemorating the martyrs of the Warsaw Ghetto rebellion.
Another address was delivered by Dr. Heinz Galinski, chairman of the Jewish Community Council of Berlin. A feature of the evening was the award of this year’s Heinrich Stahl Prize, given to Dr. Joseph Wulf, historian and chronicler of the Nazi era. Dr. Wulf is the Jewish Telegraphic Agency’s correspondent in West Berlin.
