An exhibit of Auschwitz drawings opened Sunday at Israel’s Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. Zinovy Tolkachev, a Jewish soldier who sketched what he saw when he entered Auschwitz with the Soviet Red Army when the camp was liberated in January 1945.
