John W. Gibson, chairman of the Displaced Persons Commission, has come here to expedite the transfer to the United States under the DP Immigration Act of some 3,500 DP’s and 14,000 Volksdeutsche Germans.
Official statistics reveal that 21,971 DP’s and 4,316 Volksdeutsche have entered the U.S. since the DP Act went into effect. It is expected that the movement of Volksdeutsche will be speeded up from now on.
