The American Friends of the Fighters for the freedom of Israel, a pro-Sternist group, today issued a statement announcing its solution. The statement bitterly attacked the Israeli Government for outlawing the Sternists.
“This is the last statement to be issued by the American fiends of the Fighters for the freedom of Israel before its dissolution,” the organization announced, It charged the late U.N. mediator Count Folke Bernadotte was the “faithful and reliable servant” of the British Foreign Office and the U.S. State Department in “their sinister scheme to bring about the destruction of the state of Israel.
Bernadotte’s death afforded the Israeli Government “a long awaited opportunity to put into effect the preconceived plan to liquidate all political opposition,” the statement said. “The ‘dissident’ organizations are not its only victims. The process shows clearly its determination to terrorize all political opponents,” the statement asserted.
