There will be no postponement of the Dec. 26 deadline on registration of aliens and all non-citizens who have failed to register by that date will be prosecuted, Registration Director Earl G. Harrison warned today. He said that both postponement and the handling of cases under the law had been discussed at Justice Department conferences.
Harrison urged unregistered aliens to act immediately in order to avoid the Christmas rush at post offices and warned against racketeers who were preying on the gullible by promising to obtain exemption from registration in return for cash payments. These racketeers are especially active in New York and Chicago, he said.
