Opposition to proposed partition of Palestine was expressed here today by Jacob Rosenheim, president of the Agudas Israel World Organization, in a statement issued to the press in connection with the persistent rumors that a new partition of Palestine is planned, with a Jewish State being created in one section.
“Agudas Israel,” the statement reads, “opposes, in accordance with its attitude on the occasion of the former partition-plan, the proposal of a division of Palestine and of changing her traditional frontiers, fixed for ever by the Bible and comprising Western Palestine and Transjordania. The political conditions of present times require more than ever the opening of Greater Palestine to the free immigration of homeless Jews, whereas the question of Jewish sovereignty presents a thorny political problem that should not be allowed to complicate the situation.”
