The Jewish Agency for Palestine, it was understood today, will issue a statement within the next few days in reply to an announcement in the House of Lords yesterday by Lord Dufferin and Ava, Colonial Undersecretary, in which he served notice that the British Government would neither reduce nor augment Jewish immigration into Palestine until next March and warned that the Holy Land could not be a solution of the refugee problem.

The colonial office issued a vigorously-worded statement today reiterating its denials of brutality by troops and police in Palestine and pledging immediate inquiry into all cases of irregular conduct called to its attention.
