A top Israeli general said Israel’s security system “probably doesn’t provide answers to threats” against the Jewish state. Matan Vilnai, who was passed over for the position of army chief of staff earlier this month, said Israel could not defend itself against surface-to-surface missiles that had been developed by countries in the Muslim world. Israel’s defense minister, Yitzhak Mordechai, responded by saying that Israel was working on a new security approach.
