A team of Israeli scientists have discovered an enzyme that they say plays a central role in the growth and spread of cancer. The scientists, who also developed antibodies to destroy the enzyme, published their findings in the latest issue of the magazine Nature Medicine. The scientists belong to a joint team from Hadassah University Hospital at Ein Kerem and the Rehovot-based company Insight.
