A senior Israeli lawmaker was suspended for disorderly conduct. The Knesset Ethics Committee on Monday ordered Yoram Marciano of the Labor Party to be barred from the plenum until the current parliamentary term ends in two weeks.
Marciano, who handles many of Labor’s government coalition contacts, was involved in a brawl with bouncers at a Herzliya nightclub late last month. He has acknowledged having consumed alcohol at the time but said he acted in self-defense. The Ethics Committee further noted a reprimand against Marciano for conduct unbecoming a Knesset member.
