A Palestinian mother in Hebron claimed that her baby died because Israeli soldiers delayed her getting past a checkpoint to a hospital. The woman said she had wanted to have her three-month-old son treated for influenza. Israeli troops have sealed off the West Bank town since last Friday to help their search for a suspected Palestinian assailant involved in the Aug. 20 slaying in Hebron of Rabbi Shlomo Ra’anan. According to police, the attacker climbed through a window into Ra’anan’s trailer, stabbed him several times, then threw a firebomb into the living room.
