Declaring it inconceivable that “any American citizen could continue to entertain sympathetic feeling toward the aims and policies of Nazism and Communism,” the American Federation of Labor’s executive council asserted in a statement today that Hitler and Stalin were the enemies of mankind and “as long as their creed of totalitarianism rules in Germany and Russia the peace of the world is in jeopardy.”
