About 150 headstones overturned by vandals several weeks ago in the Cedar Park and adjoining Beth El cemeteries are still on the ground, according to Simon Zinn of the Bronx. N.Y. who visited the cemetery yesterday. Attempts by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency to elicit information from the jointly-owned Jewish cemeteries proved fruitless. A man who identified himself as Mr. Levy said “we’re taking care of it but would not explain what this meant. The Bronx man said he was moved to tears by the vandalism. Paramus police said they did not handle the incident but recalled that about 148 tombstones had been overturned about three weeks ago. The cemeteries also abut Emerson and Washington Township but police in the two municipalities did not recall the incidents.
