Jewish clergy liaison to NYPD reportedly stabbed in Brooklyn

An Orthodox Jewish clergy liaison to the New York Police Department reportedly was stabbed in Brooklyn.

NEW YORK (JTA) — An Orthodox Jewish clergy liaison to the New York Police Department reportedly was stabbed in Brooklyn.

The victim was rushed to the Lutheran Trauma Center after being attacked at approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood, according to Yeshiva World News. His condition was not known.

A spokesman for the NYPD confirmed to JTA that a stabbing occurred at the time and location reported and that the victim was taken to Lutheran Trauma, but could not provide information about the victim other than that he is a male in his 30s.

The NYPD spokesman told JTA that the victim was stabbed in the neck and that a suspect, a 20-year-old man, was apprehended at the scene.
