JERUSALEM (JTA) — Hundreds of people participated in Jerusalem’s 13th annual Gay Pride parade, but attendance was down.
The parade Thursday night, which had been postponed twice during Israel’s 50-day war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip over the summer, saw a drop in attendance from the thousands of previous years, according to reports.
Hundreds of police officers and Border Guard officers secured the parade, which was sponsored by The Jerusalem Open House, representing the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, or LBGT, community.
