WASHINGTON (JTA) – John Hagee Ministries at its 32nd annual Night to Honor Israel distributed nearly $3 million in donations to Israeli and Jewish charities.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee was the keynote speaker Sunday at the event held at the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio. Other speakers included Maya Kadosh, deputy counsel general of Israel to the American Southwest, and Hagee, the founder and chairman of Christians United for Israel.
Hagee spoke about threats to Israel, including Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
“Iran’s charm offensive is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to buy more time for their nuclear weapons program,” Hagee said. “The Senate must pass a new round of sanctions against Iran without delay.”
Hagee Ministries distributed more than $2.7 million in donations to such organizations as the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Eretz Nehederet, Friends of the IDF, Hadadi Center for Breast Cancer, International Council of Young Israel, Jewish Agency for Israel, the Koby Mandell Foundation, Meir Panim, Nefesh B’Nefesh, Ohr Torah Stone, Save a Child’s Heart and Yad Vashem.
