JERUSALEM (JTA) – -Two Israeli police officers were injured by rocks thrown on the Temple Mount.
About 20 Arab youths on the Temple Mount threw stones at police officers on Wednesday morning. When other police officers arrived to disperse them, another dozen rock-throwing worshippers locked themselves in the Al Aksa Mosque to avoid arrest, according to reports.
Three Arabs were arrested in the incident, two for throwing rocks and one for inciting them, according to reports.
On Tuesday, two leaders of the Islamic Movement in Israel’s northern branch were arrested for calling on supporters to riot at the Temple Mount.
