(JTA) — The Israeli army detained an 11-year-old boy for allegedly writing “Death to Arabs” on Palestinian cars and slashing their tires.

Sunday’s arrest in the “price tag” attack came after police found that the boy possessed the magic marker allegedly used to write the messages on cars in the West Bank industrial zone of Sha’ar Binyamin, the Times of Israel reported.

He was released, though his parents will appear before police for questioning on Monday.

“Price tag” denotes a movement of extremist settlers who have carried out numerous attacks on Palestinian and Israeli Arab property and sites. The perpetrators claim the attacks are a response to Israeli government policies that hurt the settlements.
