JERUSALEM (JTA) — Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, spiritual leader of the Sephardic haredi Orthodox Shas party, may have broken a bone, possibly his leg, after falling in his home.
Yosef, 92, was taken Sunday to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem, according to Ynet, where he was reported to be conscious but in great pain. He reportedly lost consciousness and fell that evening.
Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri accompanied Yosef to the hospital.
In January, Yosef was hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
