It seems nobody really knows whats going on with the new “Star Wars” film.
Earlier this week, Jewish actress Carrie Fischer told Palm Beach Illustrated she was playing Princess Leia in the new “Star Wars” film coming out from Disney, only for a representative to tell CNN she was only kidding.
“She was joking,” the rep said. “Nothing has been announced yet.”
Yet George Lucas himself told Bloomberg Businessweek they are in negotiations to sign Fischer, as well as Harrison Ford. Will someone please set the record straight!
Eithe way, at least we now know Fischer, who played Princess Leia in 1977 Star Wars IV film, is interested in the gig.
When speaking to Illustrated, Fischer said she imagined her character today as “elderly”.
“She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle,” she said.
Fischer also believes Princess Leia would still wear her hair in bagel buns today, adding, “the bagel buns and the bikini, because probably she has sundowners syndrome. At sundown, she thinks that she’s 20-something. And she puts it on and gets institutionalized.”
