To the Editor:
Re Kamenetsky: Report child abuse to rabbis, not police," I find it hard to believe that a rabbi of any Jewish movement would say such a thing. Jews are not above the law, and we are not in the same category of the Catholic Church, which allowed children to be molested and covered it up.
Rabbi Kamenetsky would talk a different tune and beg the police to help if something happened to one of his children. He is a learned man who studied the laws of God, but in this case he is wrong. It is time that some rabbis come into the 21st century.
