Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, just gave an interview to Shalom TV in which he tarred the Forward with perhaps the worst insult you can direct to a journalist: irrelevance.
Hoenlein was pissed about a recent Forward article which described how the conference had come under fire for its supposed rightward leanings, evident in two campaign season snafus. According to Hoenlein, the paper got the facts wrong, but it doesn’t matter anyway.
"It’s not a paper of great import in any event," Hoenlein said.
Ouch! Apparently the feeling is mutual, though. Hoenlein didn’t make the cut for the Forward 50.
