David Murphy backs public radio — according to his Twiiter icon — and, well, his name is Murphy. He sounds neither Republican nor Jewish.
Which is why his tweet made me laugh, although I’m sure he doesn’t think it’s funny:
I keep getting fundraising calls from the Republican Jewish Coalition. I have asked NUMEROUS times to be removed. Not Jewish or Republican!
It reminds me of a London Jewish Chronicle story I saw back in the early 1980s, about one of Ken Livingston’s anti-racism conferences. Someone rose to speak and said "I’m a Jewish lesbian against racism, but I don’t represent Jewish Lesbians Against Racism."
When it comes to outlooks, you can’t be too particular.
