The co-chairs of the Congressional Task Force Against Anti-Semitism are welcoming United Kingdom Prime Minister Gordon Brown to the United States and praising him for his commitment to fighting anti-Semitism. Here’s some of the statement from Reps. Ron Klein (D-Fla.) and Mike Pence (R-Ind.):"
The Co-Chairs praised Prime Minister Brown on becoming the first world leader to sign the London Declaration on combating anti-Semitism, which calls on legislators and governments worldwide to “expose, challenge and isolate political actors who engage in hate against Jews and target the State of Israel as a Jewish collectivity.”
“Today, we welcome Prime Minister Brown to the United States Congress and express our appreciation for his steadfast commitment to combating anti-Semitism in Great Britain,” Klein and Pence said. “With anti-Semitism on the rise across the European Union, Prime Minister Brown’s efforts are especially important. We thank the Prime Minister for his leadership and encourage other heads of state and government to add their signatures to the London Declaration without delay.
“The spirit of friendship and cooperation between the United States and Britain is strong. We were honored to host Minister of Parliament John Mann, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee against anti-Semitism, on his last visit to Washington, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in the fight against hatred around the globe.”
