JERUSALEM (JTA) — A moderate earthquake shook Israel.
The 5.3 magnitude quake, which originated near Cyprus, was felt Friday night from Beersheba to Haifa.
Hundreds of Israelis called police following the temblor.
The last earthquake felt in Israel was a 3.8 magnitude in December; a 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck Israel in April 2011.
