NEW YORK (JTA) — A group of 10 female Israeli soldiers and terror victims is in New York on a trip sponsored by a Chabad-Lubavitch group.
The group of injured Israel Defense Forces veterans and attack victims arrived in the Big Apple last weekend as part of a 10-day trip hosted by Chabad Terror Victims Project. The trip includes visits to major city attractions, a helicopter ride, VIP treatment at Broadway shows and shopping.
Participants also will be treated to an exclusive makeup session and fashion show, a dinner gala and Shabbat hosted by Manhattan’s Upper East Side Jewish community.
According to the Chabad Terror Victims Project, this is the first year that the trip has been exclusively for women.
"If we can help even one of these brave souls forget her troubles for a moment and see hope in her future, we will have done our job,” said Rabbi Uriel Vigler, director of Chabad Israel Center of the Upper East Side.
