JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian man confessed to running over and stabbing eight Israelis in Tel Aviv.
Muhammad Zofan, 21, of Kalkilya, confessed Sunday in Tel Aviv District Court to the attack last Aug. 29 near the the Oman 17 nightclub. Eight Israelis were injured, one seriously, in the attack.
Zofan carjacked a taxi at knifepoint and then ran over two border guards and a bystander. He later stabbed police officers and civilians that tried to stop his attack.
According to the indictment, Zofan decided to carry out the attack in revenge for Operation Cast Lead in Gaza.
