(JTA) — United Jewish Communities of MetroWest, N.J., has launched a new endowment campaign that will match community needs with donor interests.

MetroWest Tomorrow, which was launched last week, has raised $70 million toward a $100 million goal in programmatic endowments over the next several years.

The endowment program focuses on three key areas of Jewish communal concern, referred to as “pillars”: Jewish continuity, community and connection. The program also centers on areas of particular interest to established major philanthropic families, with emphasis on involving multiple generations of donor families.

Some 100 families have made commitments of $100,000 or more to the campaign.

The endowments have funded innovations in Jewish camping, teen philanthropy, transportation for senior citizens, day school education and outreach to families with young children.
