WASHINGTON (JTA) — Glenn Beck will broadcast from Israel during a surprise visit.
The right-wing talk show provocateur, who revealed last month that he will be leaving the Fox News Channel later this year, will air his syndicated radio show from Israel on Tuesday, his website announced.
"What prompted Glenn’s sudden trip over to Israel? We’re told that details are coming soon," said the website, which noted that Beck has been "taking a strong and vocal stand for Israel."
Beck, who is ardently pro-Israel, nonetheless angered an array of Jewish groups recently for likening the quest for "social justice" to Nazism and for falsely insinuating that liberal philanthropist and Holocaust survivor George Soros was a Nazi collaborator.
One of those groups, Jewish Funds for Justice, claimed credit for the Fox-Beck split, although both sides denied it.
