(JTA ) — Tablet Magazine won the nation’s top magazine award for blogging.
The Scroll, headed by Tablet staffer Marc Tracy, received the National Magazine Award for Best Blogging. Tablet’s editor-in-chief, Alana Newhouse, accepted the award March 16 in New York.
Tablet Magazine puts out a daily online compendium of Jewish news, ideas and culture. It was launched in June 2009 as a project of the not-for-profit Nextbook Inc.
The National Magazine Awards, or Ellies, were established in 1966 and are considered the top awards for magazine journalism. Digital journalism has been recognized by the award judges since 1997.
