(JTA) — Terrorist suspects arrested in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany discussed targeting Jews in Belgium, Belgian federal prosecutors said.
The 11 people arrested Nov. 23 allegedly were part of an international jihadist group planning a terrorist attack in Belgium. No specific target was identified, according to reports. The group was using a jihadist website to plan the attack.
The arrests came after several months of undercover investigation, Belgian police said. In addition to Jews in Belgium, NATO vehicles in the country also were targeted, CNN reported, citing a senior European counterterrorism official.
