WASHINGTON (JTA) — Plaintiffs in an en effort to keep a mosque in Murfreesboro, Tenn. are funded in part by "Proclaiming Justice to the Nations," a Christian Zionist group.

Three plaintiffs have filed suit, saying that Rutherford County, saying that hearings leading to the approval of an expansion for the Islamic center in the central Tennessee town were not sufficiently open to dissenting opinions.

Talking Points Memo, a liberal investigative reporting site, this week reported that PJTN is paying for one of two lawyers in this case.

The Tennessee-based group has led opposition to the planned expansion of the community center, which has existed in the town for 30 years without incident.

According to the group’s website, it lobbies, organizes rallies and distributes literature on behalf of Israel.
