JERUSALEM (JTA) — The first international conference for emergency preparedness and response opened in Tel Aviv.
Hundreds of senior officials from Israel and around the world are participating in the four-day International Preparedness and Response to Emergencies and Disasters conference, which began Monday.
Presenters in the first two days are set to discuss various aspects of handling emergency scenarios. The closing two days will comprise an extensive biological exercise in the Gush Dan region of central Israel.
The conference is a joint initiative of the Israeli army’s Home Front Command and the Israeli Ministry of Health, and is recognized by the World Health Organization, an event sponsor.
