NEW YORK (JTA) — The Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life has received funding that will allow it to operate for another two years.

The $500,000 in funding will COEJL not only to resume its full operation but to expand, according to a news release. The release did not identify the donor or donors.

The organization, which was founded in 1993 to advocate for environmental reform, has been operating at a diminished capacity of late because of funding issues.

COEJL’s re-emergence comes as the United Nations prepares to open a two-week climate change conference in Copenhagen next week.
